This replica of Kentucky's "Nature's Finest" license plate has a light blue background faded into white. A wren bird is perched on the Tulip Poplar tree branch, to the right of your custom blue text. "Kentucky" is spelled out across the top of the plate, in white. The Wren bird is one of the most common birds in Kentucky and the Tulip Poplar tree is now the official state tree. Kentucky is the only state to have had 2 "official state trees" in it's history. Initially, in 1956, the tulip poplar was selected as the state tree, but due to an error in documentation, it was not officially recorded in Kentucky's statutes. This led to the Kentucky Coffeetree being named the state tree in 1976. A legislative blunder and a decades-long debate over symbolic representation finally ended in 1994 when lobbyists successfully made the Tulip Poplar the official tree.
