If you've selected a state & year sticker (not an actual sticker, these are printed on the license plate) we will insert them where you have a space in your text request. For example if you request: "SAMPLE TEXT" on your plate, we will insert the state & year stickers in the space. If you request "stickers" but don't have a space in your customization text, we will insert the stickers on the far left side of the text.

Quantity

Germans first started seeing simple black and white registration plates on vehicles in their country in 1906. Since then, the system has evolved into the current format which has been in place since 1956. German plate numbers are unique in that the first letter in the main text area is the "area code." Each district has a unique letter mapped as an area code. For example, "B" stands for Berlin. You can view this table for a complete list of Germany area codes.

The second style has the German flag colors as a background with the "D" at the bottom and on top a rendering of the German eagle from the coat of arms.
