The Georgia state seal is a simple but meaningful design. The overhead arch reads, "Constitution" and the three pillars stand for the three branches of government. On the scrolls wrapped around the pillars is written, "wisdom, justice, and moderation," the motto for the the state of Georgia. The soldier standing between the column represents the citizen's right to defend the constitution. The 13 white stars around the seal of course represent the 13 original colonies.
