This license plate is a replica of Maine's official tag that was issued May 1, 2025 and still used at present. This auto tag features a white background with pine tree screened at left and blue five-pointed star screened on top left; "MAINE" screened in dark green centered at top.

The design for Maine's "Pine Tree" auto tag was created by Mary Catus, an employee in the Department of the Secretary of State. She originally sketched the realistic pine tree and North Star design for fun at her desk, and it was ultimately selected to replace the 25-year-old chickadee plate.
