Bulk order: 20+ "Akron 44" Custom disc golf championship license plates
Here's another order for the "Akron 44" Disc Golf tournament plates. This year they went with a spin-off of the Colorado 1976 Bicentennial tag.
These replica license plates were all fully embossed. This type of embossing setup is a bit more challening then normal because the metal has to be "moved" a greater distance than for a normal emboss. The first "layer" of embossing is the rim emboss and moves the metal 1.9mm. The second "layer" of the emboss process is the text itself, which actually is being moved an additional 1.5mm beyond the original movement! This is a total emboss depth of 3.4mm. When you're moving this much metal, there's alot that can go wrong! We had to manually adjust and shape some of the parts of the die set. We use a hand-operated rotary tool for that.
Here's a nice collection of photos showing the finished plates!
